Carolyn Pluff

Director of The Dance Place, has attended both Boston Conservatory of Music, Theatre and Dance and University of Massachusetts Amherst, where she received a four–year scholarship. Carolyn has traveled to dance conventions in Boston, Miami, Florida, New York City, and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She received a scholarship to study dance at the Tremain Studios in Hollywood, California where she studied with Joe Tremaine, Doug Coldwell, Tony Copolia and Kurtis Gregory. She has also studied with Clyde Nantais, Brian Foly, Gus Giordano, Peter Genero and Al Gilbert. Carolyn teaches Creative Movement, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Hip Hop Video Funk, Pilates, Yoga and Pointe at The Dance Place, Inc.

 

 

 Alexis (Steinhart) Roche

holds a BS in Biomedical Engineering and attends WPI pursuing her masters degree. Her dance training began at the age of 5 in a local Worcester studio. Alexia studied at The Dance Place, Inc. for 11 years becoming an assistant at the early age of 12. She has participated in numerous dance conventions and master classes. She was the founder of the “WPI Dance Team”. Alexis has choreographed several specialty pieces for benefit concerts and teaches Ballet, Children’s Work, Jazz, Tap, Lyrical and Hip Hop Video Funk at The Dance Place, Inc.

 

 

 

Amanda Runne

graduated from Roger Williams University with a BA in Psychology and a minor in Dance Performance. She studied at The Dance Place for 15 years and has attended various competitions, conventions and master classes with well-known people such as Frank Hatchett, Jackie Henderson and Pamela Raff (a protégé of Leon Collins). Amanda performed with the RWU Dance Club and served as Performance Manager for two years. She teaches Lyrical, Contemporary, Hip Hop and Pointe.

 

 

 

 

Lindsay Burdsall

graduated from the University of Massachusetts Amherst with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing and is currently attending Northeastern University pursuing a master’s degree in pediatric nursing. Lindsay continues to study dance, attending various conventions and the Boston Ballet School. She has danced at Amherst Ballet Company under Sueann Townsend and at UMASS under Thomas Vacanti and Billbob Brown. Lindsay began her dance training in ballet, jazz and tap at The Dance Place at a young age and later in life became a very involved dance assistant for younger dancers. Lindsay has participated in the Boston Ballet Advanced Summer Dance Program and studied with Boston Ballet faculty including Clyde Nantis, Tamara King, Christopher Anderson, Kristin Cusch, Helena Froehilch and Christopher Hird. Lindsay teaches ballet, pointe, jazz and lyrical.

 

Lindsey Favacchia

graduated from Suffolk University. She has studied at The Dance Place since she was a very little girl. Lindsey currently teaches ballet, jazz, and contemporary at The Dance Place Inc.

 

 

 

 

Calista Burgos

started her dance career at The Dance Place Inc. since she was three years old and danced with us for eight consecutive years. Afterwards, she danced at other studios where she competed nationally multiple times a year and attended master classes across New England. She then attended Burncoat Middle and High School where she studied all styles of dance. At the young age of twelve, Calista got to travel to Florida with the Burncoat dance team to perform for the Orange Bowl. During her senior year of high school, Calista was the captain of her dance team and was able to lead her team in winning The State Champions title. She has also choreographed several pieces during her time in high school. Now, she is attending Endicott College and is working towards a Bachelors in Education and a minor in dance while she is a member of the Endicott Dance Ensemble.
